The city of Anar is located in northern Kerman province. In the center of this ancient city, there is a historic citadel. The area of this citadel is about 11,179 square meters. The date of construction of this building is based on the report of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization of Iran, returns to the pre-Islamic period.

This citadel was rebuilt and reused in the Safavieh period. This building was formed during the Sassanid era and completed in the Islamic period; in other way we can say It has a collection of different periods in itself. The interior of this citadel was healthy about 25 years ago. Particularly its two-story rooms that were fully usable, but a member of the Revolutionary Guard In the first years after the 1979 revolution in Iran, entering this citadel and cause he said this rooms were “a place of corruption” , So he Has destroyed this part. This citadel has not been studied in research, such as exploration and archaeological excavations.

The plan of the citadel is in the form of a rectangle drawn eastward to the west. This rectangular plan is located on a hill surrounded by six towers and barrows. This citadel consists of one-story and two-story spaces, also one-story spaces mostly located on the edge of the citadel. Which includes service spaces such as stables, traps and … and also the habitat of ordinary people and servants.

Two-story buildings located in the center of the citadel are the headquarters of the state and the political center of the citadel. The entrance to the northern side of this citadel, located between the two towers, was created by destruction at the beginning of the revolution. The main entrance is located on the southern side of the castle on Razi Street.

The city of Anar name was Aban before Iran invaded By Arabs . This ancient city was part of Fars province’s “Estakhr province” but it was located in the territory of Kerman about 1500 years ago.

This organ was registered in the National List of Iran attraction Collections in 2010.
